Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapy is a therapy intended to alleviate problems with having a vestibular system that is out of balance. Our vestibular system is the one that tells us where our body is in space, and with it not functioning at its fullest capacity leads to lack of balance and general limitations in movement as well as vision. The types of exercises that are typically performed to strengthen the child's vestibular system involve movement, whether that be on a ball, an Astronaut Board, or on a variety of swings. These are often combined with other various therapies, and are typically performed by the Calgary clinic's paediatric occupational therapist.
